Terms
The terms we work to.
Plain language and deliberately short. The summary: a fixed quote before we build, the setup paid before we start, a setup window we commit to in writing, and a monthly you can stop with thirty days’ notice.
Who you’re contracting with: Aporia Nous Computing, a sole proprietorship based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, trading as Aporia Nous.
What we do
We build an AI agent that answers your business phone, books work into your diary, and follows up — and we run it for you. It answers on the number you already have.
Quotes and payment
You get a fixed quote before we build, and it doesn’t change afterwards. The quote depends on two things: how much the agent handles, and what it has to connect to.
The setup fee is paid before the build begins. The monthly fee begins on the next billing cycle after that — not at signing.
The setup window — our commitment to you
We agree a setup window with you, based on the size of your business and the work involved. It is never a flat number, and it is written into your quote before you pay anything.
If we miss that window, we refund the setup fee in full. You have 14 days from the missed deadline to claim it, and we process it within 10 business days. Anything beyond that is by request, looked at case by case — and we won’t assume you’ve waived it.
If a payment doesn’t arrive
We invoice on your billing cycle date. If an invoice is unpaid seven days later we’ll remind you — usually more than once, and we’d rather sort it than escalate it.
If it’s still unpaid at fourteen days, we pause the agent. Calls stop being answered at that point, so this is the step we take seriously and tell you about before we take it.
If it’s still unpaid at thirty days, the agreement ends. You stay responsible for what was invoiced up to then, and we keep what we hold for a further thirty days before deleting it — which leaves time to change your mind or move.
What you get, and what we keep
Your customers keep dialling the same number, so nothing changes on their end.
The line the agent answers on is registered and operated on our platform. It stays with us rather than transferring if you leave — and we tell you that in your quote, before you sign, not after.
Your customer information is different: that’s yours. Ask us when you leave and we’ll hand over the enquiries and bookings the agent took for you, along with the wording we built for your calls. We keep our own copies for thirty days and then delete them.
Ending it
Month to month. Tell us thirty days before you want to stop and there’s nothing to buy out — we keep answering until the notice runs out, then we stop.
What we don’t promise
We describe what the agent does — it answers, it books, it follows up, it hands a caller to a person when it should. We don’t promise particular results, and we won’t claim that you can never miss a call. Anyone promising you that is selling you something they can’t control.
Telling callers it’s an AI
The agent says it’s an AI at the start of the call. That isn’t only our preference — several states already require disclosure when an AI interacts with a consumer, and the direction of travel is one way. We’d rather be early than caught out.
What we ask of you
That the information you give us about your business is accurate, that you’re entitled to use the phone number you ask us to answer, and that you’ll tell us if what you want the agent to say changes.
Governing law, and the limit of our liability
This agreement is governed by the law of South Dakota, and disputes are dealt with in the state or federal courts sitting in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
If something goes wrong, our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We aren’t liable for lost profits, lost revenue, or indirect losses. Nothing here limits anything that can’t be limited by law.
